Dear 14 Year Old Me.

How you doin'? (That was supposed to be read in a Joey Tribiani voice but you haven't watched the entire series of Friends yet, so do some growing up and then come back and read this). So you're in about year eight hey!? Woah high school, you're almost growing up.

First off, let me tell you something about how popular you are. Right now you might have a ""boyfriend"" I put that in brackets because soon enough you will laugh about the fact that you thought he was you're boyfriend, when really it was mainly being friends the kiss occasionally. You have a few girlfriends, they seem like they're perfect and you feel loved. They're actually bitches, rude, rude bitches and in sooner life you will regret sharing any secrets with them because soon enough the whole school will know them as well. You're popularity and wanting to leave the house every day isn't going to last much longer, pretty soon you'll watch everyone around you change and there wont be anything you can do about it, no matter how much you want things to stay the same. You're popularity will decrease so much in a short space of time it wont be long before you actually realise people really do suck.

Secondly, you are not going to marry a member of Short Stack, (cough, Andy, cough). Also, he will get way more attractive after they break up for a few years and then get back together, you're going to have to trust me on that one. It would probably also be wise to change you're usernames from something relating to marrying Andy, because you're doing little more than embarrassing yourself. Basically give up on Andy, and that does not mean move on to Shaun or Bradie, please just wait until after the break up.

Eventually you're going to reach a point where you really can't be bothered with people, with school, with life in general. You might not think it at the time, but eventually you will get through the worst of it. You will learn that you don't need the approval of others, and what they think of you doesn't mean a thing. You will go through so many periods where you feel you truly have no one, it will get better, you might not have a heap of friends around you, but you will learn to trust the people you can't see everyday, you'll have more fun with them anyway.

You are going to go through a One Direction phase, all those posters on your wall are not worth the amount of time it's going to take to pull them down without peeling off the paint as well. Harry Styles however will always be attractive, there for you're slightly ridiculous crush on him is understandable.

You're going to need to learn the skill of holding you're tongue, especially to teachers and parents. You need to work hard to be who you want to be and where you want to get to in life.

Sincerely, Present Day Elyssa.

P.S- black clothes are always in fashion.
